SHARKS vs BLUES
This was a good night for Sharks captain Joe Pavelski as he led all forwards by a wide margin. Pavelski has climbed back into top spot among SJS forwards in Overall Contribution.
Marc-Édouard Vlasic had his strongest performance of the Playoffs. His Offensive Contribution rose significantly to match his customary strong Defensive play.
Justin Braun also had a very strong Defensive game on the blueline. He and Vlasic combined for the highest Defensive Contribution by a D pairing in these playoffs.
Paul Stastny and Jaden Schwartz led STL Forwards in Overall Contribution. Schwartz led Offensively and Statsny Defensively.
Vladimir Tarasenko had his best game since Game 2 despite not being a scoring threat. He created offense for the Blues on a number of Passing Plays.
Alex Pietrangelo was strong thru 2 periods, wasn't able to execute as well in the third, but still led STL Defensemen in Overall Contribution despite playing nearly 28mins.
This game was a tale of two D-cores as SJS thoroughly out performed STL. The forward groups were relatively similar with SJS F's having the edge in Defensive Contribution.
Of note, Plays made by SJS Defensemen using active sticks were the highest of any game in the Playoffs, surpassing Game 2 of the LAK series.
